For the Nature Lover

When you decide to take a break from the beautiful beaches of Cayman, why not immerse yourself in some of Cayman's pristine nature.  Cayman has several activities outside of it's beautiful waters, that involve getting a little adventurous and sometimes friendly with critters... big and small.

Take a Mangrove kayak tour with Sea Elements for a water-side look at Cayman’s natural resources.  A popular journey is the bio-luminescence tour through the mangroves at night, which is best experienced before or after a new moon, when it's extra dark outside!  Tours leave from Seven Mile area and Rum Point.

Perhaps you might enjoy seeing the endangered blue iguanas at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park.  Enjoy a leisurely walk around the park with or without a guide.  Feeling a little more adventurous, then why not hike the Mastic Trail.  This walk can be rather trenuous, especially in hot, humid weather.  Again this is best enjoyed with a guide, to make the most of learning about the cayman flora and fauna.

If you head up to West Bay you have many options from horseback riding on the beach to learning about sea turtles at the Cayman Turtle Farm: Island Wildlife Encounter.  At Cayman's Turtle Farm you'll see, pick up and swim with turtles of all sizes and ages, plus enjoy their diverse bird and reptile sanctuary.

Have you ever petted a dolphin?  Swing round to Dolphin Cove and Dolphin Discovery where you'll be given the opportunity to get cosy with dolphins and even experience a ride if you're game!  These adorable, smart creatures will be happy to pose for the perfect picture to remember them by.

If you can't stay away from the perfect Caribbean water for an adventurous day then why not enjoy world-famous Stingray City.  This iconic nature loving experience will give you an expereince you'll be sure to tell others at home.  Get up close and personal with the velvety soft southern stingrays with one of the many great CITA tour operators.  These tours will often take you to snorkel one of the amazing Cayman reefs, where you can also enjoy the vibrant and abundant fish life on the reef.

All of these activities can be organised with CITA members directly:
