One of Cayman’s largest and longest running events, Taste of Cayman Food & Drink Festival returns for its 31st year, held Saturday 26th January 2019 at the Festival Green, Camana Bay from 5pm.
2019’s Taste of Cayman will have a large focus on Caymanian heritage and tradition.
Part of our focus on Cayman culture included the partnership with artist, Michelle Bryan of Michellustrations. Michelle has designed a series of illustrations depicting a range of Caymanian culinary characters, including a fisherman and a heavy cake baker, as well as designs of local food and drink favourites, including fruit, conch and rum punch.
The All Things Cayman area is the embodiment of the cultural and traditional culinary elements of the Cayman Islands, with the annual Heavy Cake competition, the Seven Fathoms Mixology Competition and the Amateur Chef Cook-off, all attracting the best local chefs, bakers and mixologists from around the island. In 2019, the All Things Cayman area will be expanded to also include; rope craft, steel pan demonstrations, folk singers and traditional dancers giving attendees the opportunity to embrace everything we love about our island life!
