RESTAURANT WEEK WAS A FULL SERVING OF TASTY EXPERIENCES

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, 11 October, 2012 – For the second year consecutive, the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) and its restaurant sector report an overwhelming response to the 2nd Annual Restaurant Week! Locals and visitors alike came out in full force to enjoy a week full of delicious specials at CITA member restaurants. In fact, it was so successful for the restaurant participants that next year’s Restaurant Week will last longer than a week! This will give diners even more chances to enjoy fabulous food at premier restaurants on island in 2013.

Restaurant Week 2012, which took place Monday, October 1st – Saturday, October 6th, involved 16 restaurants, each offering special price-fixe menus for lunch and/or dinner. Diners were able to choose $15 lunch, $25 dinner and $35 dinner options, some of which had the additional option of a special wine/drink paring. It was a great way to explore the variety of culinary offerings at local restaurants for a cost-effective price.

CITA’s Executive Director Jane van der Bol expresses her thanks for this year’s event. “Restaurant Week proved to be a great success for CITA member restaurants. The Cayman Islands is home to so many quality establishments that strive for excellence in daily operations. Restaurant Week is a way to help them increase business during a slower month of the year while showing off the quality, variety and hospitality available in Cayman. These qualities are what make Cayman the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.”

CITA partnered with Flava magazine and dms Broadcasting to promote this fantastic week of dining opportunities, and the event had a great exposure in all media channels.
